A brand event goes viral when one moment is so photogenic that guests post it without being asked. At Lalu Fun Foods, a Toronto experiential brand activation agency, we build that moment into the food itself - a soft serve served inside a fresh pineapple, a pastel cotton candy wall, a statement station guests line up to photograph. Get the serve right and the social reach is free. Here is how we design it.
Why does food drive more social shares than anything else at an event?
Food is the one thing every guest holds, raises, and frames before they take a bite. A branded coconut or a swirl of soft serve becomes a prop in their hand, so the post happens naturally instead of at a forced photo wall. It is multi-sensory, universal, and every surface of it - the cup, the sleeve, the fruit shell - carries your logo into the feed.
What makes a food serve actually photogenic?
Color, height, and a clear hero shape. The strongest serves at our Toronto activations read in a half-second thumbnail: a vibrant fruit shell, a tall pastel cloud, a glossy finish that catches light. Our Ice Cream in a Fruit product, DOLE soft serve in a fresh pineapple or coconut, is dairy-free and gluten-free, so it photographs as a treat and includes guests who would skip a standard dessert.
- Strong color that pops against any backdrop - a pink, a teal, a deep berry red.
- Vertical height: a tall swirl or stacked serve reads better in a phone frame than something flat.
- A hero shape people recognize instantly - a fruit shell, a cone, a branded coconut.
- A glossy or textured finish that catches light and looks fresh on camera.
- Single-hand portability, so guests can hold the serve and shoot at the same time.
How do you design a photo moment people actually line up for?
Build one anchor that combines a striking serve with a styled backdrop, then put it where foot traffic is heaviest. Our Luv Fluff cotton candy station is a favorite for this - a wall of pastel spun sugar reads as a backdrop and a treat at once. We handle this as a full experiential build, the kind of work covered on our experiential marketing service, so the styling, lighting sightline, and product all line up in one frame.

How do you turn every guest photo into brand reach?
Brand every surface the camera sees. On a turnkey Lalu booking we include custom cups, sleeves, signage, and the cart wrap at no extra cost, so when a guest posts their serve your logo posts with it. This full takeover approach is the heart of our brand activation service - the cart, the product, and the packaging all become moving billboards in the feed.
- Custom cups and sleeves, so the logo is in frame every time someone holds the serve.
- A branded cart wrap and signage that turns the station into a backdrop.
- On-product branding - a logo on the coconut, a printed flag in the swirl, a stamped cup.
- A short, memorable hashtag on the signage so posts cluster and you can track them.
Which Lalu products are built to go viral in Toronto?
The ones with built-in spectacle. Ice Cream in a Fruit is our most-photographed serve - fresh pineapple, coconut, and watermelon shells filled with DOLE soft serve. Luv Fluff cotton candy gives you a color wall, Luv Coco delivers branded coconuts, and Nitro Luv Lab makes nitrogen ice cream live in front of guests, which films as well as it photographs. Each one is a serve people want to capture.
- Ice Cream in a Fruit - DOLE soft serve in real fruit shells, dairy-free and gluten-free.
- Luv Fluff - pastel cotton candy that doubles as a photo-wall backdrop.
- Luv Coco - branded fresh coconuts, a clean canvas for any logo.
- Nitro Luv Lab - nitrogen ice cream made live, with theatrical clouds of vapor.
How much does a shareable brand activation cost in Toronto?
Our published minimum spend is $1,500, and most single-station bookings land between $1,500 and $3,000 - that covers the station, product, two to three uniformed staff, setup, teardown, and the custom branding. Large multi-activation programs scale to $50,000 and up. Every booking is turnkey, food-safety certified, and fully insured, with a Certificate of Insurance available on request.
How far ahead should I book to get it right?
Book a turnkey single-station activation 3 to 4 weeks out, and larger custom builds or multi-day festival residencies 6 to 8 weeks out, since the custom branding and styling take design time. We serve Toronto and the wider GTA - Mississauga, Vaughan, Markham, North York, Scarborough, Etobicoke, Brampton, Richmond Hill, and Oakville - and you can see the full local lineup on our Toronto event catering and food experiences page.
We have built shareable moments for brands like Sephora, NYX Cosmetics, RBC, and Fidelity Investments, and run residencies at the CNE, Live Nation's Budweiser Stage, and the Distillery Winter Village. Send us the brand, the audience, and the date, and we will come back the same business day with a serve and a styled moment built to post.
